Bachh Baaras is celebrated on the 12th day of Krishna Paksha (waning moon) in the month of Bhadrapada (August-September). Date for Bachh Baaras varies every year.
On this day women who have son do puja of cow who has also given birth to a male calf.
Coustoms
On this day women can eat all the sprouts like moth, bajra, moong and chana. They can eat rice also but they dont eat wheat. They also don’t eat vegetables or fruits which need to be cut by knife. They also don’t eat and drink cow milk or cow milk’s product. They can have buffalo’s milk and curd.
