Ub Chhat (19-08-2011)

Ub Chhat is very common festival in Rajasthan. This is also called Channa Chhat. It comes in the month of August - September. Dates for this fast vary every year. According to Hindu calendar, it falls on the sixth day after the full moon on Bhaadva month.

On this day women observe fast whole day. This is done both by married and unmaried women. Unmarried girls do this with a belief to get husband of their choice. And the married women do this for the well- being of their husbands, that god always take care of them. It is also one of the important fast to be observed by the women in Rajasthan.
